So I stumbled into the world of open source through Jon ("who is working on these projects, why?"). Looking through the issues, I manually fixed enough lints in angular.js that they sent me a t-shirt (ty Igor)! It was so motivating that I ended up learning about the linter itself, JSCS. That landed me a job at Behance because it's maintainers (Mike/Joel) worked there. JSCS eventually merged with ESLint, and through that, I found out that Babel existed. From there I found myself accidently becoming the maintainer there.
Along the way, I slowly discovered what I cared about wasn't the code.. so I left that job in 2018 for the pursuit of freedom: of code and of life.
